What is International Sign?
Contrary to popular belief, many different sign languages exist around the world. International Sign is a form of signing that is globally recognised and understood.
It has been compared with Esperanto, and some academics may argue that it is reminiscent of Pidgin and/or Creole languages. Others believe that it is a purely visual method of signs, using only certain grammatical elements of sign languages that advanced sign language users are able to understand.
